- Holy Family Hospital provides state-of-the art maternal and child care to the poor women and infants of the region. 25% of those served reside in refugee camps.
- Array of services includes: prenatal care and delivery, out-patient postnatal care, gynecology, education about childbirth and childcare, social services for families, and mobile clinical outreach to remote areas.
- The hospital has delivered over 47,000 babies (3,213 in 2009).
- The hospital provides the only available long-term hospitalization for mothers with high-risk pregnancies.
- An average of 13% of the deliveries at the Hospital must be admitted into the neonatal department for intensive medical care (the only one in the region).
- In 2009, 21,587 women and children were examined through outpatient consultations.
- Referral hospital to four refugee camps operated by the United Nations Relief Works Agency.
- The ever resilient staff has never closed its doors despite political conflict, road closures and curfews.
- The Hospital recruits and trains native-born medical professionals; particularly providing opportunities for women in a region where there are few others.
- Patient payments only cover 33% of the total cost of operation (the Bethlehem region has neither a social welfare system nor health insurance).
