Backgrounder for Holy Family Hospital of Bethlehem Foundation
A 501(c) (3) foundation organized exclusively to generate and distribute funds for the operating expenses of Holy Family Hospital.
For the past 13 years, the Foundation has served as one of the primary financial supporters to Holy Family Hospital ensuring the highest-quality care can be provided to the poor women and babies in the Holy Land. Since 1999, the Foundation has disbursed $4.1 million to Holy Family Hospital.
To meet the demands of the region, the hospital has expanded both its facilities and programs resulting in the annual operating cost to significantly increase from $1 million to $3.6 million. In order to ensure all who come to its doors can be served, the Foundation has created a number of opportunities for people to help support the hospital and its mission. Examples include hosting “baby showers” to benefit the hospital, school drives, and the ability for churches and other groups to “adopt” Holy Family Hospital .
The Foundation is managed by a Board of Directors that is comprised of United States citizens. The Board adheres to Bylaws and does not receive compensation for their time or skills.
Two foundation board members also serve on Holy Family Hospital’s Board of Directors.
