Holy Family Hospital of Bethlehem

Only 500 yards from the site of the nativity where the Blessed Mother gave birth to the Savior of the World, Holy Family Hospital of Bethlehem protects the sanctity of life, cares for infants and children and comforts expectant mothers. It is truly a beacon of hope and peace in the Bethlehem region. The Holy Family Hospital’s work in the Holy Land is at the service of the poorest and serves as a testimony of Christian charity.

Designated by Pope John Paul II as one of his top 100 projects for the new millennium, the Hospital is considered the preeminent provider of medical services in the Holy Land and opens its doors to everyone, regardless of national origin, religion, or ability to pay. Mothers travel from near and far, whether it is the remote areas of the desert or within the town of Bethlehem, so their babies can be delivered safely and given the expert medical care to become healthy infants. Holy Family Hospital is their chosen destination!

  • Its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is the only one in the region, saving 400 infants just last year.
  • The obstetrics department provides the only long-term hospitalization for mothers with high-risk pregnancies.
  • Almost 20,000 outpatient consultations are performed annually.
  • It serves as a referral hospital to four UN Relief Works refugee camps.

It is through the generosity of donors, such as yourself, that Holy Family Hospital can continue to serve the poorest and most defenseless of the region who often have little or no means to pay for medical services.
