Mariam lives in a remote Bedouin village that relies on the Holy Family Hospital Mobile Outreach Clinic van for healthcare. She was overjoyed when she found out she was pregnant. However, soon after the pandemic hit and all of Bethlehem came to a standstill. Roadblocks separated neighborhoods from one another and Mariam found herself with no way to receive prenatal care; the Mobile Outreach Clinic could not go out to her village.
However, Holy Family Hospital was able to use telehealth to continue prenatal care consultations for women who lived far from the Hospital. These sessions ensured that women who are separated by roadblocks still have access to healthcare education. Mariam learned how important nutrition is for her growing baby during her telehealth sessions. When she delivered her baby at Holy Family Hospital, her newborn daughter was happy and healthy.
