Very Rev. David G. Caron, OP, ChM
Michael Espiritu, MD, as an attending neonatologist at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center and Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Weill Medical College of Cornell University. He received his MD from the Weill Medical College of Cornell University, bachelor’s degree (A.B. cum laude) from Harvard University, and completed post-graduate training in pediatrics and in neonatal-perinatal medicine at the New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Since his investiture as a Knight of Magistral Grace (2014), he has travelled regularly to the Holy Family Hospital as a visiting professor, sharing his skills with his pediatric and neonatal colleagues at the hospital.
In addition to his activities at the Hospital, he has served at the Order’s international summer camp for disabled youth, organized the American Association’s volunteer first aid teams in Rome during the Jubilee Year of Mercy (2016), and is currently a Counsellor at the Permanent Observer Mission of the Sovereign Order of Malta to the United Nations, New York.
Very Rev. David G. Caron, OP, ChM, a longtime chaplain in the American Association of the Order of Malta is very well known among our members. He is in great demand as a retreat master and has participated in many Lourdes pilgrimages, including our 2020 virtual pilgrimage. He has celebrated the Mass for the malades at St. Patrick’s Cathedral before the annual Brunch for Holy Family Hospital during Investiture weekend.
In his work as Director of the Office of Evangelization for the Archdiocese of New Orleans, Fr., Dave pursued his passions of preaching, leadership development, evangelization and liturgy.
He has held leadership positions within the Order of Preachers.
Fr. Dave has visited Holy Family Hospital in Bethlehem and is very well suited to share his inspiration and insights with us. Over the years Fr. Dave has been an advocate and supporter both locally and globally for Holy Family Hospital, A Primary Work of The Order of Malta.
