Day 1 – Saturday, January 19th, 2019

– 11:05 PM: Depart on United Airlines Flight #90 from Newark, NJ to Tel Aviv

Day 2 – Sunday, January 20th, 2019

– Arrival in Tiberias
– Check in to Pilgerhaus
– Welcome Dinner and Sunday Mass

Day 3 – Monday, January 21st, 2019

– Visit Tabgha, the site of the Multiplication, and Capernaum
– Walk the Mount of Beatitudes and take a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee
– See Mount Tabor and celebrate Mass at the Basilica of the Transfiguration

Day 4 – Tuesday, January 22nd, 2019

– Visit Cana, where couples can renew their marriage vows
– Visit Nazareth to pray at the Basilica of the Annunciation and St. Joseph’s Church
– Depart for Haifa, port city on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea
– Stand atop Mount Carmel and look over the Baha’i Gardens
– Check in at Stella Maris Guest House and celebrate Mass at the Cave of Elijah

Day 5 – Wednesday, January 23rd, 2019

– Visit Acre (Akko), site of one of the Order of Malta’s first hospitals
– Drive along the Mediterranean Sea
– Arrive in Bethlehem
– Check at St. Vincent Guest House and celebrate Mass

Day 6 – Thursday, January 24th, 2019

– Celebrate Mass at the Church at Shepherds Field in Beit Sahour
– Visit Church of the Nativity and the Nativity Grotto, Christ’s birthplace
– Visit St. Jerome’s Grotto
– Drive to Jericho and see the Baptismal Site
– Return to Bethlehem and enjoy a reception with Holy Family Hospital’s staff

Day 7 – Friday, January 25th, 2019

– Tour Holy Family Hospital, the Order of Malta’s hospital in the Holy Land
– Visit Ein Karem, hometown of St. John the Baptist
– See the Church of St. John and the Church of the Visitation
– Celebrate Mass at St. John in the Mountains Church
– Visit Abou Ghosh, ancient church and monastery of the Order of Malta
– Tour Aida Refugee Camp in Bethlehem, home to many Holy Family Hospital patients and staff

Day 8 – Saturday, January 26th, 2019

– Visit the Mount of Olives
– See Dominus Flevit, site of Jesus’ weeping over Jerusalem
– Visit St. Peter in Gallicantu, site of the trial of Jesus
– Walk in the Garden of Gethsemane and the Basilica of the Agony
– Visit Mount Zion and Dormition Abbey
– Stand in the Upper Room, the hall of the Last Supper
– Celebrate Mass at the Franciscan Chapel

Day 9 – Sunday, January 27th, 2019

– Arrive in Jerusalem
– Visit the Church of St. Anne and the Pools of Bethesda
– See the Church of the Flagellation and Condemnation
– Walk the Via Dolorosa, visiting the Stations of the Cross
– Venerate the Tomb of Jesus and the Site of the Crucifixion at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre
– Visit Muristan, where the Order of Malta was founded
– Arrive in Jaffa and visit the Church of St. Peter
– 11:10 PM Departure on United Airlines Flight #91 from Tel Aviv to Newark, NJ

Day 10 – Monday, January 28th, 2019

– Arrival in Newark, NJ at 4:30 AM.


Passport and Travel Documents

A valid passport is required for international travel.  All passports must be valid for at least six (6) months after the return date or you can be denied boarding at the airport.  It is a good idea to make copies of important documents in case of loss.  The most important pages of your passport and any credit cards you take with you should be copied and kept separately.  Carry a duplicate with you and leave one copy with someone at home along with a copy of the hotel accommodation information.
