Second Annual Boston Reception
Celebrating Life, Peace, and Hope
On March 2nd, HFHF held its second annual Boston Reception celebrating the lifesaving work of Holy Family Hospital in Bethlehem. Our gathering at Boston’s Seaport Hotel offered a beautiful tribute to thousands of families in the Holy Land whose lives have been touched by this “oasis of peace”.
We were blessed to be joined by Special Guest Ambassador Raymond L. Flynn, former mayor of Boston and former U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See. In his remarks, Ambassador Flynn challenged us to care for the most vulnerable among us – victims of religious persecution, refugee families, and the unborn.
Together, 100 faithful Bostonians answered the Ambassador’s call through their generous support of Holy Family Hospital. With the funds raised at this year’s event, Holy Family Hospital will be able to save the lives of five critically-ill newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Star of Bethlehem Award
None of this would have been possible without the committed support of Mr. Thomas Driscoll of Belmont, MA. Mr. Driscoll came to know the work of the Hospital two years ago during the Order of Malta’s annual pilgrimage to Lourdes. Upon his return, he set to work looking for ways for faithful Catholics in his home city to support needy families in the Holy Land.
In gratitude for all the friends and supporters he has brought into our Foundation family, Jen McNulty, Foundation Director, awarded Mr. Driscoll with Holy Family Hospital of Bethlehem Foundation’s Star of Bethlehem Award. The award is presented to supporters of the Foundation who have gone above and beyond in their commitment to serving the mothers, infants, and children of Bethlehem.
We are so grateful to all those in the Boston area who are willing to make room in their hearts for the families served by our Hospital in the Holy Land. Thank you for helping share our Hospital’s message of life, peace, and hope, and for supporting our Foundation’s powerful ministry of mercy.
